War Machines RTS Update 104.7.15.15.12 Now Available
I am pleased to announce the release of the new War Machines RTS version 104.7.15.15.12. This update introduces several new features for multiplayer, new single-player content, user interface improvements, and the initial steps of the dedicated artificial intelligence.
Below is the detailed list of changes and new features introduced in this release.
Multiplayer and Connectivity
-
Dedicated WMRTS Server: An official dedicated server has been launched to handle and host online matches.
-
Lobby Improvements: Applied optimizations to increase the overall stability of the game lobby.
-
Port Check: Added a port verification feature. Hosts can now directly host a match if they pass the network communication tests.
-
RelayHost Support: Thanks to the new server, the system now supports RelayHost functionality to facilitate connections between players.
Content and Maps
-
Campaign (Work in Progress): Added 4 new campaign missions, currently under development and refinement.
-
Scenarios (Work in Progress): Introduced 2 new scenario missions, also currently work in progress.
-
New Skirmish Maps: 4 new maps are now available for skirmish mode (some of which are also featured within the missions).
-
Faction Expansion: Added new units to expand the rosters of both the AND and EUF factions.
-
Map Features: Added environmental features (props) to the in-game maps to enrich the battlefields.
Gameplay and User Interface
-
WMAI (War Machines AI): Introducing the first version of the game’s native artificial intelligence, designed to provide more consistent behavior during matches.
-
Objective Markers: Visual markers are now visible on the map during missions to clearly indicate active game objectives.
-
Objectives Window: Added a dedicated screen to quickly view the current mission objectives.
-
Mission Diary: Introduced a new window containing campaign lore, character background details, and useful tactical tips.
-
Improved “Unit Reward” Function: Updated the reward system. Upon every victory, players can receive level 1, 2, or 3 units, which can be stored in their garage (provided they have free space available) to be deployed in future battles.
-
Unit Deploy in Survival: Enabled the specific unit deployment function for survival modes.
Optimizations, Balance, and Game Engine
-
Engine Update: Completed the transition and optimization steps within the Spring RTS v104 engine.
-
Bug Fixes: Resolved several issues related to game scripts and graphical effects.
-
Balancing: Adjusted the parameters of certain units to ensure more balanced combat.
As this version includes several elements still in progress (such as the campaign and scenario missions), your feedback is highly valuable. Feel free to try this build and share any issues or suggestions through the official channels.
Thank you for your ongoing support of War Machines RTS!
