The project isn’t dead! In these three months I’ve been working hard on the WMRTS menu game launcher and in particular on “online account” feature, the skirmish interface and the installation client.
At the moment, for the beta launch and the upcoming versions the online mode is not planned but in the future WMRTS will probably support multiplayer skirmish battles.
For this reason, I’m building the WMRTS skirmish interface with some basic features for multiplayer support in order to reduce the amount of future work and to make it more compatible with standard multiplayer functions. This, though, requires much extra time.
Right now, I’m done with the skirmish interface for single player battles against the CPU. There are two good standard AIs (KAIK and RAI) developed by the Spring Engine Community but not all the “ICU” and “NFA” units are ready so you’ll have to wait a little longer!
The single player campaign is ready for the beta version that uses basic remade TA units. As you already know, this campaign is not playable in full, only the beta part will be available.
